I have been waiting for December 2nd to come for a long, long time. Why? I will tell you.
Hi, my name is Sadie Weiss, and I am 10 years old.
I have been practicing at home almost every day so I can be good for volleyball when the season starts at FUTURE STARS – WOOT WOOT. I am going to be writing once a week about my
season at Future Stars. I think the season lasts about 8 weeks. I hope you are as excited as I am!!!
Where should I start? My Dreams? My Goals?
Well, I want to be able to spike the ball on my brothers face, but my mom said that is not a real goal. BUT I am very serious about working hard to get a scholarship at ASU. My amazing daddy took me to one of their games, and it was so much fun to watch those girls on the court. They definitely rock.
Anyway, today is December 2nd and I was super excited but now I am very nervous because they are having team selection. When I first got there we warmed up with serves.
Before we did the drills the coaches were talking to the parents and players. Coach Stacy said that she doesn’t care if we make mistakes, she cares about fixing them. She also said bad attitudes were not allowed and we need to work hard. I think Coach Stacy is really nice but she is serious about learning and getting better.
I feel like I did good because I tried my hardest. I served overhand and the coach said good job and the volleys were fun. All the girls got a turn. All the kids were separated into groups by their age. We did a few drills like volleys, and serves so they could see how good we are.
We did one last drill. It was to find 10 people and introduce yourself, say your age, first and last name, your school, and favorite food. My favorite food is peas! No just kidding those make me literally barf, ask my dad.
Before we left I went up to coach Peter and introduced myself, he is very, very tall and he played professional basketball. So I thought he was cool.
See you next week, I will be sharing what happened in my practices and WOOT WOOT MY FIRST VOLLEYBALL GAME !!!
