The YMCA of Pueblo is a charitable organization, so we make sure we include everyone in our sports activities, regardless of ability to pay.
Sports are naturally fun for children and adults. We are as interested in developing character as we are in developing healthy athletes. Our coaches stress good sportsmanship and skills development over winning. During the season, team members receive equal practice time and will play at least one half of every game. In addition to learning the fundamentals of sports and inclusion in games, your kids will also learn the four core values of the YMCA : caring, honesty, respect and responsibility – winning strategies for in and out of the game! That’s what makes the YMCA so much more.
Got Game? Emphasis is on teaching the values of good sportsmanship, teamwork, goal setting and skill development in a fun, esteem-promoting atmosphere. Children will have the opportunity to learn the basic basketball fundamentals in a non-competitive environment. Our youth basketball program is a co-ed league.
Fall Flag Football
BE GOAL ORIENTED! YMCA flag football is a recreational program designed for youngsters new to the sport of football as well as those not quite ready for tackle football.
BE GOAL ORIENTED! Youth Soccer is an exciting sport combining team play and individual skills. YMCA kids soccer promises no try outs, no getting cut and no bench warmers! Every child plays at least half of every game while making friends and learning new techniques.
Got game? Hit the courts with the folks who invented the game – the Y! Originally called mintonette, volleyball was created by the YMCA. An experimental game, mintonette combined a variation of the badminton net with elements of basketball, the German game of fistball and handball.
