PHOENIX, AZ Legacy Youth Basketball was founded in 2011 by Coach Willis and Coach Wheeler.

Within the program we have had a wealth of success, creating competitive teams who traveled and played against the best teams on the west coast!

Legacy Youth Sports passionate and enthusiastic staff will work to create a positive learning environment for all. We will instill sportsmanship and fundamental basketball skills in our young athletes for today and beyond. LYS purpose is to insure that every athlete understands and embraces the fact that academics come first and last.

Mission Statement

The Mission of Legacy Youth Sports Basketball is to give an opportunity for all players with different skill levels to develop their overall game. We will teach in an environment that is cohesive to learning the overall skills of self confidence, awareness and individual skills. Athletes will develop character and compete against some of the best talent in their region and possibly the nation. All while using time management to be able to juggle the responsibilities of family, school and community.

We will also prepare each player to fully understand and execute the fundamentals of the game. We pour into the players the meaning of team spirit and have an environment of respect and common courtesy. Each player of the LYS club teams will be schooled on how to become leaders in their respective communities as they advance through their sports years.

Our Goal

Our goal is to provide a quality, well organized, basketball program for boys and girls. Offering advanced instruction in basketball fundamentals and how to play as a team along with life concepts. With this kind of instruction, along with participation and exposure in competitive tournaments and leagues, along with off season camps and training sessions, this will help prepare our athletes for the next level of their educational and or sports careers.
